In order to lose weight effectively you must rein in your appetite and control junk food or late night cravings. One of the best ways to accomplish this goal is to slip some nutrition into your weight loss diet. The trick of course, is to manage this technique in such a way that you do not add more calories or not many more anyway to your meal. High nutrition helps build lean muscle mass and curbs your appetite, both of which are great for weight loss.

Here's what I've been trying out. I know you've probably heard many times before, that greens such as mustard greens, Kale, Bok choy, Swiss chard, etc are the top most nutrient dense vegetables.

Even though I've always known how important these are in the nutrition world, using them in meals really never came to mind. Its true you do get some green leafy vegetables with salads, but the greens like kale, bok choy, mustard greens, and swiss chard are WAY more nutritious than lettuce and spinach.

The trick to including these vegetables was figuring out how to slide them into a meal without tasting them on their own.

It is no secret that there are many recipes available but for the person who loves soups or tomato sauces with an Italian flavor this works great.

First gather up a bit of mustard greens, Bok Choy, Swiss chard and kale, the Swiss chard is optional. I put them in a large batch of soup broth or tomato sauce. It is also good to add a zucchini and a slice or two of onion to the mix.

Allow everything to simmer together until all the greens are good and soft, and then strain all the green, zucchini and onions out and place in your blender. Process them until they are nice and smooth then pour this mixture back into your tomato sauce or soup to simmer.

By themselves, kale, Bok Choy, and mustard greens may not be that appetizing but when you puree them and mix them into a sauce or soup, they are pretty good. You have now succeeded in slipping in nutrient dense food that you can actually enjoy eating while you lose weight!

Keep in mind that the absorption of vitamin for this pureed blend of high nutritious greens is increased. You actually absorb more vitamins and minerals, because the pureed greens are easier for your body to fully digest compared to just chewing them normally.

This plan is wonderful for the family with children who is struggling to get good nutrition. All you have to do is get your recipe and seasonings right to slide the vegetables in completely unawares. Kids will never know they are eating healthy when you serve up a steaming plate of spaghetti with this type of Italian tomato sauce! If used regularly this is a very good weight loss strategy.
